Since my "second job" seems to be computer support, I thought I'd put some tips, tricks and "raspberries" up here for everyone's enjoyment. ...along with plenty of other commentary on music, life, Macs, etc.

Common ancestry

Finally, I found someone else with the same computing background, who found themselves transitioning to the Mac when OS X was unveiled, the same as I did. Those NeXT machines and the NEXTSTEP/OpenStep OS were incredible!

BF2

Oh, my brother's gonna love this... ;-p

Well, no game has ever captured my interest like this one: Battlefield 2. It's very team-oriented, and it takes working together to win the battles. I'm also a part of Battlefield 2 Combat, which is an organized weekly tournament within Battlefield 2. We've just started Tour 3, and it looks like it will be a great time, once again. Take a look at me ("[3IF]TemporalBandit") and some of my fellow players across the US on Frapper. You can also check my stats at BF2 Player.

Now, Windows inside Mac OS X

Well, it's been a busy couple of days, regarding running Windows on a Mac. Today, a company named Parallels began providing software that makes use of Intel's Virtualization Technology on the Yonah (Core Duo) processors. This allows you to run Windows (or Linux, Solaris, OS/2, etc.) in a window inside Mac OS X. Gee, what will tomorrow bring?

This opens up a whole new world of useability with the Mac, including playing PC games on the Mac (Apple may have effectively just shut the doors of all the Mac-based gaming companies!). The new software/firmware combination is called Boot Camp.
